How to Duplicate an Email Campaign in Mailchimp

Today you will learn how to duplicate an email campaign in mailchimp to help with your email marketing.

Welcome back to another Momentum Monday Marketing blog! Today we’re going to talk about how to duplicate an email campaign in Mailchimp. This will save you time and money with your email marketing efforts.

Login or Get Access to Mailchimp

For this to work, you need to already have a Mailchimp account with existing campaigns. You are going to log into Mailchimp and navigate to the campaigns tab. From here you can see the existing campaigns you sent. You will want to duplicate one of your campaigns from here. Choose a campaign with a design and layout similar to what you want to use for this upcoming campaign.

Remember, you will be editing and optimizing a previous campaign. This means you will need to change out the title, subject, description, content, designs, links and more. This might take 15-30 minutes. Duplicate an email campaign with Mailchimp or your email provider to save time with your email marketing.

The next steps on how to duplicate an email campaign in Mailchimp involve changing out the content. The first thing you’ll have to do is rename the campaign. From there you’ll want to change your subject line and description. Make sure to not be spammy and try to make these engaging so people click and open the email.

The email campaign will automatically be setup to send to the same audience you sent the duplicated email to so be careful and check your audience.

Once inside the campaign, you’ll need to edit the email design. I’d suggest changing out all the main content from the previous campaign.

  • The campaign text and headlines
  • The images and videos
  • The links and hyperlinks
  • Anything else pertaining to the previous campaign

Once you’ve changed this out please make sure to read and review the email itself.

Review, Approve and Launch your Mailchimp Email Campaign

Lastly, make sure you thoroughly review your campaign for errors, spelling punctuation and changes. Make sure the design looks good and everything is relevant to this new campaign.

You will be able to preview the campaign in desktop and mobile. You can also send yourself a test email. Do this and review the look and feel of the email.

The last thing you will want to do is send out the campaign. Approve and launch the campaign. From here you can copy or duplicate the email again and again to different audiences if you want them to receive the same email.
